A Day at the Oakland Raiders Football Camp for Kids

Bless the Children Foundation, a local Bay Area non-profit organization, sponsored a day with the Oakland Raiders. On Thursday, August 9th 2001, Kids from six Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland and King Estates Middle School went to the Oakland Raiders Training Camp in Napa, California. A group of very deserving kids boarded a bus at 6:15AM at the Carr Branch Boys and Girls Club located at 8530 International Blvd in East Oakland.

The outing was a way for Bless the Children Foundation, the Boys and Girls Club, and the Oakland Raider's to say "job well done" to the children for their commitment to excellence in the classroom. The children were selected based upon their academic and citizenship grades from the last marking period. This reward allowed an excited group of kids an opportunity to spend the day with the Oakland Raiders. The day included watching the team practice, an autograph session, and lunch with their favorite players.
