In an effort to reach our objective, Bless the Children Foundation held their first fund-raising event, A Celebrity Bachelor Auction…to be held Friday October 19, 2001 at The Claremont Resort & Spa in Berkeley, California. The auction presented some of today’s most popular and recognized bachelors. Proceeds and donations will be in keeping with The Foundation’s goal.

Description of Event Pictures from Event

Bless the Children foundation selected over a dozen popular eligible men to participate in the Celebrity Bachelor Auction. This was an elegant formal affair with the bachelors in tuxedos. Dinner was served along with a fully stocked, no host bar. The room was complimented with a pleasant atmosphere, which included; ice sculptures, red carpets, flowers and balloons. Our Mistress of Ceremony was a bubbly radio personality, Tracee from 98.1 KISS FM's "Renel In The Morning Show". The live entertainment included a popular jazz musician, J. Spencer and for those with a sense of humor, a hilarious, but tasteful comedian, the bay area's own Dugar. A raffle was held about every ˝ hour until the auction began. The grand finale was the auctioning of our bachelors one by one to the highest bidder. A special VIP room was set up after the completion of the auction where we enjoyed a light reception with hors d'oeuvres and a hosted bar.

Bless The Children Foundation believes this was a fun and exciting event with a new approach to fund-raising. This was an event that hopefully some day will be hosted by every city nationwide. The capital requirement associated with this fund-raising event is $75,000.
